The practical skills of persons with vision impairment

Background/Aim. The acquisition of practical skills, as with adaptive behaviour in general, is affected by an array personal and environmental factors. aim this study was to determine the level skills among adults vision impairment comparison norms general population, regard visual status (low blindness), age loss onset, gender, age, living arrangements, education, employment status. Methods. Seventy-nine persons who are blind forty-eight volunteers low typical intellectual abilities took part study. respondents were aged from 19 60 (M = 36.06, SD 11.777). Practical assessed using Skills domain which Adaptive Behavior Assessment System II - ABAS II. Results. scores achieved skill areas domain, range extremely average. Extremely detected Work area, for Community Use, Home Living Health Safety, below average, average noted Self-Care area. degree depended primarily on status, but a significant connection arrangements also established. Conclusion. Persons showed limitations area indicate need support programs designed foster development self-reliance.
